Exercise anywhere

Even in front of the closet.

For some, a  gym membership helps retain focus on ones goals. For others who may be putting it off, a few relatively simple exercises are all that are needed to start getting more activity in.

I am partial to body-weight exercises because they promote general fitness. Sure people who are into working out or have specific goals to meet will suggest more substantial weight and cardio routines, but for the everyday person squeezing out 15-20 minutes 3 days a week is all that is necessary as a baseline. Your not only getting cardio in but strengthening posture through movement-maybe even building some strength and endurance in the process.

Best 25 dollars I have ever spent on fitness.

In my experience some basic equipment at home is all that is needed. All I use externally is a door mounted pull up bar. I'm no fitness expert, hell I'm not even a fitness amateur but I'm sharing what works for me.

Cardio/strength at the same time all while promoting high energy expense-enter interval training.

The simplest interval routine ever
Do some pull ups-Start with 5 and work around that. If pull ups in general are difficult you can do push ups and make it a goal to work towards.
Do some bodyweight squats-Start with 20 in a row to develop a baseline for what you can do and work from there.

Thats it? Yes but simple doesn't mean easy. You'll be going on and off nonstop in a short period of time, the result of which is straining(to put it lightly). Rest for 45 seconds a set and repeat.

Eventually you will adjust and need to throw in some other compound movements such as lunges and push ups, or variations on these simple exercises while increasing the amount overall per set while decreasing rest times. It is all tentative, the more familiar you are with the routines the better-able you are to push beyond them. Simplicity is often a plus when it comes to thinking about movement so you can free up your capacity to do them rather than think about it.

From there keep adjusting to accommodate for what you want to accomplish and for progress. With any luck you'll get some sort of positive results. If not for the sake of feeling better and doing something about being active in the months when the sun is out less often.
